Coach Gretchen Pierce
Gretchen Pierce started skating at age 9. She’s been coaching for 14 years. She competed nationally with the Portland, Ore., based synchro team ‘The Cascades’. Gretchen passed her Intermediate Moves in the Field and Juvenile Free Skate tests. She spent summers training in Sun Valley, Idaho, and Lake Placid, N.Y. Gretchen’s teaching experience includes group and private lessons for adults and children at all levels. She does choreography for competitions and shows, coaches MIF and Free Skate tests, and teaches group classes including: jump and spin, synchro, on and off ice conditioning, choreography, and university PE figure skating.
Gretchen received her Master’s degree in Information Science from Rutgers University in 2011–that means she is a children’s librarian who likes dancing in storytimes.
